VITAMIN C

  • Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, a form of vitamin C that is more potent than ascorbic acid in stimulating collagen production
  • Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate is a stable, oil-soluble form of Vitamin C. Studies show that it penetrates both the epidermis (the uppermost layer of skin) and dermis (the deepest layer of skin)
  • Will not oxidise and turn yellow like most forms of Vitamin C
  • Suitable for sensitive skin, does not cause irritation
  • Study done by Hema Sundaram found compared to L-ascorbic acid, TA was shown to provide 5x greater penetration, 5x greater collagen production and 2x the protection from UVB radiation
